Trend-Setting New California Sustainable Design Legislation

Please join us for a presentation on California’s new laws regarding sustainable design. What does this mean for you FM’s out there?

Facility design and operations is being impacted by the requirements of the California Green Building Standards Code which took effect January 1st, 2009.

Other pieces of sustainable design legislation are the Global Warming Solutions Act and the Smart Growth Bill, the first law in the U.S. to attempt to address controlling greenhouse gas emissions by curbing urban sprawl at the local level.

David Alpert, MBA, AIA, LEED AP, is a Principal with HGA Architects and also a Member of IFMA-SF Chapter. He gave this presentation as one of the Educational Sessions at World Workplace last year in Orlando! We were fortunate enough to get David to give this same presentation to our Chapter.
